Marine Transportation
Marine Transportation is a Fundamental Part of an Oil Company's Business
A major proportion of an oil companies products that it processes and bring to market are transported by water - so this is a critical link in the supply chain.
Consequently there is no room to compromise on the the quality and fitness for purpose of the ships and barges that are used, whether they are owned or chartered.
Silversands has extensive experience of working with oil organisations in determining the needs and practical methods of ensuring that all vessels used are fit for purpose and meet the commercial needs of the business. Issues to be addressed include:
- vessel Characteristics - age, LOA, DWT, Type, Hull, Tanks
- operator and owner information
- vessel inspections - OCIMF (SIRE 3, SIRE 4,and BIQ), CDI and EBIS
- incidents involving casualties and port state control
- internal vessel performance reports
- port and berth data
We have developed systems to store, manage and analyse the wealth of data to ensure a high level of operational consistency as well as addressing the serious issue of risk reduction.
We have developed systems that manage up to tens of thousands of vessels ranging from 200 DWT to over 500,000 DWT. These encompass automated hourly processes to import available external data, execute process rules for management escalation and reporting. The systems can provide senior management with historical data, trends and ad hoc data analysis facilities.
