Loan Processing

When Barclays wanted to reduce costs by moving a loan processing system from a centralised mainframe they turned to Silversands for its software development expertise.

The mainframe system was outdated, costly to maintain and took an unacceptably long time to implement new requirements in a fast changing business environment. Silversands was required to provide a solution that was cost effective, flexible and scalable.

Following a detailed specification and design phase the Silversands development team used Microsoft development tools and Microsoft SQL server as a database engine to prototype a replacement system. Using early client feedback the team was able to rapidly develop and implement a replacement system.

As well as achieving significant operational savings the new system radically improved the loan approval process, providing the capability to load, gain approvals and sanction in less than an hour!.
