On day one of MMS Microsoft announced the general availability of System Center 2012. This is a significant suite of products and helps you deliver flexible and cost effective infrastructure management. As hybrid IT environments become common place System Center 2012 is ideally positioned to manage your physical, virtual, private and public cloud investments.

Silversands has already deployed the RTM 2012 versions of Operations Manager (SCOM), Configuration Manager (SCCM), Service Manager (SCSM) and Orchestrator (SCORCH) and is working with a number of customers to deliver their SC2012 and private cloud projects.
Day one also saw the announcement that Windows Server 8 will be released this year and will be known as Windows Server 2012.
Day two saw some exciting news in relation to Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Consumerisation of IT. It's amazing what's coming with Windows 8, System Center 2012 and the next version of Windows Intune.
Some new key concepts\features include:
- Employee-controlled devices (BYOD) where IT offers Governance and security through AD and System Center
- Real deep integration with Windows, iOS and Android with SC 2012 and Intune
- User Experience Virtualisation (UE-V) to be added to MDOP which will allow the user experience to follow them no matter what device they are on.
Mark Newton, Silversands System Center Lead said “Yet again System Center is being taken to another level”.
Silversands will immediately be building on their great work to date on pre-release and RTM versions of System Center 2012.
